How much is this thing worth?

Apple tax vs real-world costs.

Wanted to do a quick comparison of the new 2019 Mac Pro and an equivalent PC build. I am giving Apple the benefit of the doubt that they are using the absolute best and highest end components available. Especially for the base config that looks like its a hugely overpriced for what you get.

Now this doesn’t account for some apple-specific features like the ASIC add-in card for 8k footage editing or the currently apple-proprietary dual GPU VEGA II’s. But its still a $2600 premium, thats a fully specced out iMac 5k that would actually be faster in single-core performance than this workstation and comes with a very very nice display to boot!
